We started Herschel in 2008 after experiencing the amazing warmth of radiant infrared heating and recognising this solution could have a massive part to play in the decarbonisation of heating. Since then we’ve become the UK number 1 infrared heating brand and have operations across the EU, in Australia, New Zealand as well as dedicated teams within Mexico and North America. Our aim is to be the global market leader in infrared heating. Our customers share our passion and enthusiasm for Herschel heating and together we are on a mission to share its benefits and ensure our planet becomes a healthier place for future generations to enjoy.
Our Heritage Division is based at our head office site in Bristol, UK, alongside our UK Production Facility that manufactures our pioneering Halo heating solutions. With specialists throughout the UK and overseas, our experienced team of Business Development Managers are specially trained in infrared and utilise the latest technologies to provide a first class specification service for churches and heritage buildings across the globe.

2023 Grand Opening of UK Production Facility
Herschel Infrared Expands its Production Facilities
2023 saw the opening of Herschel’s UK Production Facility, in Bristol. This marked our continued commitment to increasing capacity of our energy efficient, comfortable and sustainable heating solutions to meet the growing demand from both UK and overseas markets. We were privileged to welcome guest speakers along to the event who commended the venture both in terms of the opportunity to decarbonise heating, in the road map to Net Zero, as well as creating prosperity within the UK economy. Our guest speakers were Darren Jones who officially opened the facility for Herschel, MP for Bristol North West and Chair of the Business and Trade Committee, Jade Lewis, Sustainable Energy Association, Dr Richard Hall, Department for Business and Trade and Simon Pugh-Jones RIBA, Chair of Bristol Diocesan Advisory Committee and Contributor to the Church of England’s Route Map to Net Zero.
Further expansion in 2025 sees the doubling of our UK Production Facility to accommodate increasing recognition and continued growth of infrared heating across all markets. This expansion provides us with a dedicated floor for production of our Halo church heating solutions as well as our best-selling UK manufactured Comfort panel heating range and industrial heating solutions.
Continuing William Herschel's Legacy
In 1800, Sir William Herschel made his magnificent discovery of infrared radiation resulting in significant scientific and technological developments ever since. We are proud to have continued his legacy using this ground-breaking discovery in the development of our infrared heating solutions. Infrared heating is a key technology in the decarbonisation of heat across domestic, commercial, industrial and heritage environments.
Our market-leading heritage Halo infrared heating solutions are particularly fitting given William Herschel’s home, the Herschel Museum of Astronomy, dates back to the 18th Century. A significant historic building in Bath, UK, we are delighted that one of our panel heaters is providing heating within it. The image shows a photo of one of our infrared Picture panels, within the Museum, that has been customised to feature Herschel’s other fantastic discovery, Planet Uranus. Uranus was discovered by William Herschel in the back garden of this very home.
