New Case Study: Infrared Heating powers Inferno Pilates and Bikram Yoga

The Hot Barn Chooses Infrared

The Hot Barn in Epping set out to find a heating solution capable of delivering precise, high-intensity warmth for its infrared hot yoga and inferno pilates classes. With bikram yoga sessions requiring temperatures of around 40°C, and inferno pilates set to 37°C, the studio needed a system that could create consistent heat while supporting the wellbeing benefits associated with infrared training.

To meet these demands, The Hot Barn selected Herschel’s Aspect XL infrared heaters. Manufactured in the UK, the designer-led Aspect XL range offers a powerful, zero-light heat source that can be mounted on either walls or ceilings. The studio installed four ceiling-mounted Aspect XL4 (1950W) heaters, ensuring an even, all-round warmth that supports participants throughout each class.

Heating is managed through an MD2 thermostat and APX control system, enabling precise control up to 45°C, ideal for maintaining the exact temperatures required for hot yoga and infrared inferno pilates environments.

Studio owner Kirsty says the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive:

“All of my clients have commented on how good the heat is. They definitely feel it warms them from the inside out and they can push themselves harder in the postures! They also like that when it reaches temperature the heaters cut out and so they get a small relief until they start back up again.

It creates the perfect amount of humidity as well – being in a small space it works so well that we get a big sweat which for bikram is ideal as it cools the body down slightly to be able to continue to work hard. I have worked in many studios and can definitely recommend infrared over any other types of heating”.

Infrared heating was a natural choice for The Hot Barn, which places a strong emphasis on the wellbeing advantages of this technology. Infrared heat is known to support pain relief, improved circulation, detoxification, faster muscle recovery, reduced stress, and boosted metabolism – making it a powerful complement to hot yoga and high-intensity inferno pilates practice.

This installation showcases how the right infrared heating solution can enhance client experience, and create the optimal studio environment for heat-based fitness disciplines.
