Herschel Halo Heats Sarah Beeny’s Project at Stokeford Studios

Background

Sarah Beeny was looking for efficient and effective heating of the large gallery space that overlooks the main film studio area, and her priority was for the heating system to work sustainably alongside the large solar array on the roof of the barn.

Watch as Sarah Beeny has our UK made Herschel Halo infrared heater installed. Featuring a bespoke design and dimmable LED lights, the stunning Halo is suspended from the ceiling and uses far infrared technology to deliver a bubble of radiant heat – warming the people within the space, comfortably and efficiently. The Halo is simple to install and within a new build, like Sarah’s renovation, the electrics can easily be set up as part of the second fix.

Solution

We’re thrilled that our UK-manufactured Herschel Halo infrared heater has been installed in Sarah Beeny’s latest project, Stokeford Studios, to heat people occupying the gallery space.

The team went to meet TV property development expert, Sarah Beeny, at her latest project in Somerset. The redevelopment is a barn renovation with sustainability very much at the forefront. The space will be used as a tv and film studio, incorporating spaces for community arts and music projects. Take a look at Sarah Beeny’s Instagram account here and watch as Sarah reveals the Halo infrared heater and switches on the heater (with lights) to feel the warmth.

“So, this is a massive studio, and this is the gallery where people will sit on computers watching things being made and of course they’re going to be still, you can’t heat all this space because it would cost an absolute fortune.

So, I thought I’d try infrared heating because I’ve been interested in that for a while and you can get these amazing infrared – sort of halos – which they use a lot in churches, so they not only have lights but also, they have heating elements, which means that they directly heat the objects and not the space itself. So up here, where it might be really cold, this would be the perfect place for one”.

Powered alongside Solar

Infrared is highly controllable and has the unique ability to be able to efficiently zone heat, allowing the heat to be directly focused on the people there. The Halo is particularly beneficial in minimising energy consumption on those occasions when space is only occupied by a handful of people.

The Halo infrared heater is a zero-light heater that has the additional option to incorporate LED lighting, providing a dual-purpose solution for both heating and lighting. The installation for Sarah Beeny at Stokeford Studios includes dimmable LED lights plus a 3-button smart switch. The simple-to-use switch enables 3 power levels and provides Sarah with the flexibility to adjust the level of warmth at the touch of a button.
