The Herschel iQ Hub enables remote App control of your Herschel iQ and heater system. The Hub connects via an ethernet connection to your router and once paired with a mobile device such as a tablet of smartphone, will communicate wirelessly with your Herschel iQ controllers (up to 8 separate Herschel iQ controllers) in your home. (Adding another hub allows you to extend the range and scale of your system).
Using the Hub and the App, you will be able to remotely:
Check at a glance the temperature in each of your rooms;
Set Program, Comfort or Economy Modes on each of your controllers;
Set Away Mode (T1 and R1 only);
Make program changes easily and conveniently from your mobile device;
Override temperature settings or even switch off a controller entirely;
Restart a control that is in “Open Window” mode.
The power of the iQ Hub and app becomes really apparent when you want to extend your system.
You can add another hub on a separate network and manage the iQ devices on it. This means (for example) you could manage your home and office heating on the same app.
You can share management of one or more hubs with another mobile phone (e.g. spouse or colleague).
Because device and control data is held on the hubs and iQ devices, it doesn’t matter if you lose your phone or want to upgrade it. Just download the app to the new device and re-pair.
The Herschel iQ MD1 Wired Thermostat is ideal for new builds / renovations where cabling can be neatly hidden whether it be for domestic or commercial applications. When used in conjunction with the iQ HUB, MD1 can also be controlled via the internet using the Herschel iQ App enabling you to control the heaters when you are away from the building.
MD1 is wired directly to the mains circuit and to the heaters and requires recessing into the wall. If this is not practical consider the Herschel iQ T1 Wireless Thermostat.
The MD1 thermostat will operate your Herschel heater(s) by turning them on if the room temperature is lower than the desired temperature and turning them off once the desired temperature is reached. The MD1 is easy to operate, featuring a large digital touchscreen display and incorporates the latest EcoDesign energy-saving features including Herschel’s open window technology.
MD1 has a keypad locking feature to prevent unauthorised tampering making it suitable for commercial applications such as hotels, care homes, student accommodation and let properties. The MD1 is a 16 amp thermostat enabling up to 3.6 kW of Herschel heaters to be connected.
7 x 1 day programmable, 6 periods per day;
“Comfort” and Economy modes;
Window Open Function (shutting off the heating if a rapid drop in temperature is detected until you override this or wait 1 hour);
Time of Day;
Target Temperature control (up to 45°C, making it suitable for specialist high temperature applications such as hot yoga studios);
16 Amp peak load at 230 volts;
Radio Frequency 433Mhz;
200m wireless range (if unobstructed);
12 month warranty*;
Herschel Infrared heaters together with the iQ MD1 are fully compliant with EC Directive 2009/125/EC for Ecodesign of local space heaters.
Note: Herschel iQ controls will only work with Herschel heaters.*Attempted use with any other heater brand will invalidate the warranty.
The Herschel iQ T1 Thermostat pack (including one T1 thermostat plus R1 Receiver) incorporates the very latest energy-saving technology and is specifically designed to regulate Herschel Infrared heaters. Easy to install it is perfect for installations where hard wiring to the MD1 Thermostat would be impractical (for example, if you wish to minimise chasing out walls/cable trunking).
Optional remote control over the internet is available (just add the iQ Hub and download the Herschel iQ App)*.
The T1 pack comprises a battery operated, wireless T1 Thermostat which can be wall mounted or free standing (and also includes one R1 Receiver).
The Receiver must be wired to the mains electricity supply and also to the Herschel heater(s). The T1 and R1 are paired wirelessly and the T1 will then control all R1s which are paired to it. The T1 pack will control up to 2kW (at 230V supply) of Herschel Infrared heaters on one electrical circuit. To control more heaters in the same zone, or if you wish to use one R1 Receiver per heater, simply purchase additional R1 receivers and pair them to the T1.
The T1 features 3 manual modes and 7 x 1 day programming and is an easy to operate thermostat. The T1 incorporates the latest EcoDesign energy-saving features including Herschel’s open window technology and an adaptive start function ensuring your room is always at the right temperature with the least energy use.
When used in conjunction with the iQ Hub, the T1 Thermostat can also be app-enabled allowing remote control from an App on your smartphone wherever you are – great for ensuring you always return to a warm and cosy property.
The Aspect XL is an energy-efficient, space heating solution for indoor space heating and covered, sheltered outdoor use. It is particularly suited for those applications where an aesthetically pleasing comfort heating solution with zero light is preferred. Office reception areas, shops, hotels, churches, restaurants, public halls, covered patios or terraces and anywhere within the public eye.
Utilising specially developed convex ceramic emitters in a high quality extruded and anodised aluminium body. The groundbreaking design of the convex insulated elements, complete with triple reflectors, projects far infrared heat forwards. The result is greater efficiency, a wider spread and throw and increased comfort levels. Unique only to Herschel, no other heater available utilises this technology. Other features include:
Silent operation, without fumes – consequently raising no health and safety issues;
Cheaper installation than oil or gas alternatives – all you require is electric cable;
Zoning so heat is “focused” exactly where you want it;
Please note: In areas with air movement/wind the directional Far Infrared spread may reduce by 1/3 to ½. In these areas we recommend mounting at the lowest height and proportionally increasing the number of heaters or for colder, windier situations, choosing a heater from our new middlewave Sunset range. Your Herschel dealer can advise.
The unit is protected against water ingress (protection level IPX4), however when used outside it must be installed in a covered outdoor area (always refer to installation instructions).
Up to 30% more efficient than quartz and halogen heaters
Long lifetime –solid state technology with no need to replace bulbs
Stylish looks and cutting edge design with aluminium grill as standard
Manufactured in Europe to very high quality and European safety standards
Designed to gently warm people and buildings without fierce heat and almost zero light
For use indoors or outdoors in covered areas with low air / wind movement
Warm up time < 5 mins
Convex design increases spread and throw of far infrared heat
Available in 1300 & 1950 watts
The Herschel Aspect XL must be located in a position to allow proper and efficient use but one that ensures hot parts are not touched accidentally. The recommended installation height of the Aspect XL is 2.3m to 2.5m (90”-98”) from the floor and under no circumstances is it to be installed at less than 1.8m from the floor. In all cases it should be installed at a height where it cannot be touched in operation. Consideration should be given to any temporary or occasional additions such as stages or platforms, and the height should be adjusted accordingly. The Herschel Aspect XL should be firmly and permanently attached to the wall using the bracket supplied, with the heaters angled down at 60 degrees from vertical.

1950 Watts giving a 4.5-9m2 heated zone outdoors; 9-12m2 heated zone indoors.
The heater will directly warm people and objects within the Heated Zone (note: air movement may reduce area coverage). Within enclosed areas the thermal mass of the building will also be heated within the entire zone. Dependent upon the property age/type, insulation levels, number of heaters used and running times this will increase the ambient temperatures. For larger commercial projects or where different mounting heights are required we would always recommend Herschel carry out a survey or detailed desktop assessment.
Please note: In areas with air movement/wind the directional Far Infrared spread may reduce by 1/3 to ½. In these areas we recommend mounting at the lowest height and proportionally increasing the number of heaters.
