Description
Our Herschel Comfort infrared panel heater has been designed with sustainability, comfort and performance in mind to deliver the most efficient and eco-friendly infrared panel on the UK market. Manufactured and assembled in our new UK production facility using British and European materials, every design detail has been considered, combining Herschel’s pioneering technology and unrivalled infrared experience.
The Comfort infrared panel heater features Herschel’s innovative Swift Comfort Plus system. Swift Comfort Plus combines our latest technologies to improve efficiency by delivering a higher proportion of infrared heat into the room and a faster warm-up experience. Swift Comfort Plus includes our new high performance, long life German made heating element which heats up to higher temperatures extremely quickly from startup and delivers an optimum spread of heat across the surface of the panel. A combination of high quality, UK made insulation material and a specially treated radiant reflective stainless steel back panel reduces rearward heat loss by over 20%. The result is the best infrared panel currently available. Comfort has been tested to the new IEC 60675 standard for radiant efficiency.
Keeping sustainability at the forefront, the Comfort has been built using high quality materials and designed to last a lifetime. We have also ensured that It is fully repairable. The Comfort is complete with a 10 year warranty and almost all components of the Comfort can be recycled. We use 100% recyclable UK made packaging.

When we first started this project the comfort range wasn’t available. This is a very new product. But it was three years between the initial investigation and actually having it fitted by which time it was. The efficiency is better, the controllability was better and particularly important to us was that actually it’s made in the UK. It was in line with the principles that we were trying to build on. By the time we got there, it was an absolute no-brainer.

Works great, ceiling mounted in our kitchen and has in fact benefited the whole house. Our main heating is from conventional radiators and an oil fired boiler. However, our kitchen has always struggled to warm up fully in the winter months, having one only one (admittedly large) radiator, which over the years we have realised is insufficient in the colder months. With the addition of the Herschel IR heater, it now has a helping hand and the kitchen is superbly warm all the time. Where that has helped the house overall, is that previously when the kitchen door was open, the space would leach heat from the hallway and elsewhere but that doesn’t happen any more so every room is comfortable. The best evidence for that is the fact that the oil heating stops running in the morning after about 1 hr 45 mins whereas it used to run constantly until the controller timer turned it off after 3 hours, and often as not we’d have to put it back on manually within a hour or so, plus – I see a difference in reduced oil consumption already. But – I hear you say – the electricity consumption must be up. Yes it is, but without getting into specific numbers, I’ve seen that the daily amount is is substantially outweighed by the lesser oil consumption. This flies in the face of all I know from whenever we supplemented the kitchen with a convector fan heater or an electric oil radiator. (we often had to plug in both) If I was building from scratch, or if we renovate here at some point, I’ll give serious consideration to installing IR heating throughout. p.s. – one further thing; it is definitely noticeable that the warmth created by the IR lasts longer in the space than that from the conventional radiators. This is better explained on websites by Herschel and other IR heater manufacturers so I won’t try to paraphrase it here; suffice to say that I feel it working in practice.
